AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS

Mr. Phileas Fogg is a mysterious man. Not much is known about him except that he is a polished man of the world. He is one of the most prominent members of the London Reform Club. He is also undoubtedly rich but no one knows how he made his fortune.

One night, while having dinner with the other members of the club, a robbery that happened in the Bank of England is discussed. One of the members says the world is big enough to let the robber avoid arrest but Mr. Phileas Fogg says "The world was once big." He claims that in eighty days, a man can go around the world. And so, the other members challenge him if he could prove that he could travel around the world in just eighty days.

Along with his new assistant Jean Passepartout, Mr. Phileas Fogg plans to start his journey that evening, Wednesday, the second of October and be back on Saturday, the twenty-first of December at a quarter before nine in the evening - or else half of his fortune will be transferred to the members.

But a week after Mr. Phileas Fogg's departure, a detective who was dispatched from England to search for the bank robber, finds out that the description of the thief from the Scotland Yard matches Mr. Phileas Fogg himself.

The journey challenges both Phileas Fogg and Jean Passepartout in many ways. For as they journey around the world, they leave not only as incredible story about adventure filled with comedy, exotic locations, cultures, and suspense but also abut loyalty and friendship.
